Denver Eagle Commuter Rail, USA

The Denver Eagle commuter rail project is part of an overall public transport transformation vision for the state of Colorado. Visualised in the mid-1990s, work on implementation began in the early 2000s and the tender for delivering the initial lines was issued in 2009, embracing the Design, Build, Finance, Maintain and Operate P3 model.

Ruta del Cacao, Colombia

     
Ruta del Cacao  

The Ruta del Cacao project involves the development of 236 carriageway-km of highway, providing a valuable connection between the cities of Bucaramanga, Barrancabermeja and Yondó in the Santander Department of North-Eastern Colombia.

  • SPV partners are Cintra/Ferrovial, Colpatria and Ashmore
  • 236 carriageway-km long

Finley Solar Farm, Australia

     
Finley Solar Farm  

The Finley solar farm became fully operational in November 2019, and produces enough electricity to power around 60,000 homes. It is one of several solar farms in the Riverina region, including the Sunraysia solar farm, also part of the John Laing portfolio.

  • Site: 385 hectares
  • Capacity: 175 MWdc
  • Technology: c500,000 Canadian Solar panels

 

     

Cherry Tree Wind Farm, Australia

     
Cherry Tree Wind Farm  

The Cherry Tree Wind Farm will generate enough clean energy to power 30,000 homes in the state of Victoria.

  • Location: 15km south east of Seymour, Victoria
  • Site: 40 hectares
  • Capacity: 57.6 MW
  • Technology: 16 Vestas wind turbines

 

     

Kiata Wind Farm, Australia

     
Kiata Wind Farm  

Kiata wind farm became operational in late 2017, and produces enough clean energy to power 20,000 homes. At the time of installation, the turbines on the site were the largest in the country.

  • Location: 50km north west of Horsham, Victoria
  • Site: 385 hectares
  • Capacity: 31 MW
  • Technology: 9 Vestas wind turbines

 

     

Sunraysia Solar Farm, Australia

     
Sunraysia Solar Farm  

Due to be completed in May 2020, the Sunraysia wind farm will generate enough clean energy to power 50,000 homes.

  • Capacity: 255 MWdc
  • Technology: c750,000 Jinko Panels

 

     

Hornsdale Wind Farm, Australia

     
Hornsdale Wind Farm  

Hornsdale generates approximately 1,050 GWh per annum of clean energy, contributing to the commitment by the state to invest in environmentally and economically sound energy production.

  • Location: 8-24km north of Jamestown, South Australia
  • Site: 7,500 hectares
  • Annual Output: 1,050GWh (equivalent to power approximately 180,000 homes)
  • Technology: 99 Siemens wind turbines

 

     

Granville Wind Farm, Australia

     
Granville Wind Farm  

The Granville Wind Farm will help the Tasmanian Government achieve its goal to make Tasmania 100% renewable energy self-sufficient by 2022. John Laing has been involved as an investor and active partner during construction, taking a 49.8% stake in the project.

Highway reconstruction and managed lanes, USA

     
 

We are active in the road transport sector in North America, working on significant highway reconstruction projects and building new managed lanes that ease congestion and contribute to the local economy.

Auckland South Corrections Facility, New Zealand

     
 

An innovative, performance-linked approach to offender management that benefits the prisoner, the government and the community.

  • Capacity: 960 high, medium and minimum category beds
  • Completed: May 2015

 

     

Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia

     
 

The largest-ever correctional facility to be built in Australia, this prison is built on the Serco Responsible Prisoner Model to create a safe, secure environment that promotes rehabilitation and reduces offending.

  • Size: 195 hectares; 1,700 beds

Optus Stadium, Australia

     
 

Now a John Laing Legacy Project, the award-winning Optus Stadium is a 70,000-seater, state-of-the-art sports and leisure stadium that uses the latest in ‘Fan-first’ design and planning to provide an exceptional fan experience.

Denver Eagle P3, USA

     
 

The Denver Eagle rail project has transformed the transport network across Denver, with both the A and B lines achieving 97% on-time performance. The Chief Executive of this project is a John Laing employee.

 

     

Intercity Express Programme, UK

     
 

John Laing has been involved in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the IEP programme, which is delivering state-of-the-art trains to the Great Western Main Line and the East Coast Main Line. Phase 1 is complete and the trains for Phase 2 are scheduled for delivery in early 2019.

Nordergründe Offshore Wind Farm, Germany

     
 

This project was our first-ever investment in offshore wind and comprises 18 Senvion  6.2 M126 turbines installed in the German North Sea. Construction was completed in 2017.
